rust free exhaust?

Does anyone know which exhaust will not rust and what they go for? Also, who sells them?? I work only a mile from home and I had a 89 camaro for 12 years and had replaced the exhaust system many times. I do not want to go through that with my 95 Z since it too now is my daily driver... Thanks

Re: rust free exhaust?

The stock exhaust is stainless and fairly rust free. If the one on yours isn't, consider a full stainless steel catback like the Borla or B+B.

i have a magnaflow, which is probably one of the least expensive stainless exhausts avail. i am very pleased with the fit/finish/performance and wouldnt hesitate to recommend them.

My Flowmaster is 6 years old and only has a couple small spots of surface corrosion on it.

Part of the problem is the short trips too. You are getting a lot of condensation in the exhaust that doesn't dry up as the exhaust is still too cool. make sure to let the car warm up REALLY well and if there is a long way; take it. That will help too.

Agreed! With only a mile to drive maybe you should save your money and buy a bicycle, save your exhaust and gas,two birds one stone.

Sure not a Dynomax. Mine had rust holes in the muffler in a little over a year, and that was all highway miles. Thin as a beer can. Live and learn on that deal.

Do have a biCYCLE but it's a 1200 cc, one seater but I drop my 9 year old off at school before I head over to work. The condinsation is exactly right. How long is long enough to let run before I leave in the morning? I don't care to have my car idle to long either.

Re: rust free exhaust?

You just need to find a longer route to work afew times a week. It's not so much warming up the engine,it's warming up the exhaust. You might also try some water-remover in your tank that might help some.
