Angry Reverse lights not getting signal from transmission

...that appears to be the culprit of the problem. I posted this in the electronics forum but it's a REALLY slow forum. Anyway I'm quite sure that the problem is related to a sensor or wire coming from the trans, that's the long and short of it ...but I don't yet know how to fix that. If anyone cares to read about everything I've tried in detail (about 10 hours deep now) here's the post from the other forum, but I don't think there's any need to read all that:

Just thought I'd walk away from it for awhile and try to get some help before putting more hours into searches. Thanks in advance to anyone that has time.

Re: Reverse lights not getting signal from transmission

The backup light switch (not a sensor) is on the passenger side of the trans. It's the only electrical connection on that side. It's either a faulty switch or a loose wire.

Key on, you should have 12V on the brown wire at the switch harness connector (measure with a volt meter from the brown wire pin to ground on chassis).

With the connector on the switch, in any gear other than reverse, you should have 0V on the light green wire in the harness connector. When you shift it into reverse, you should see 12V on the light green wire.

Where did you get the switch from and how much did it set ya back? I think I have the same issue.
