I searched and couldnt find anyone with the same problem..
I have a 1997 Trans am with a 6 speed
My reverse lights wont turn on when i go into reverse.
I have the hole back taillights off the car and bulbs look all good. could it be a switch near the shifter for the reverse lights? or how does that work? thanks\

Re: reverse lights

The B/U light switch is mounted into the passenger side of the tranny, high up, toward the front.

Re: reverse lights

I did a post about this in the ls1 section a while ago, and it has happened to me, my reverse lights just died...i was told it was because of the switch. Replace the switch and the lights will work. I am just too lazy to do it

Re: reverse lights

The switch is on the side of the tranny, toward the front, about 6" behind the bell housing. The shifter is at the very back of the tranny.... so they are nowhere near each other. You need to go under the car to get at it. All you will see is a plastic harness connector/plug, and a hex about 3/4" that is used to screw it into and out of the tranny case.
