replacing windshield

I need the part number for the windshield seal '94 Z28 and also any help on what else I need and how to go about the procedure. I've got a parts car with a good windshield and a daily driver with a bad one. So I'd like to try and do it myself first and if that doesn't work I'll have it done I guess.

Re: replacing windshield

The winshield is sealed with urethane applied to the glass from a tube.

Re: replacing windshield

Yeah I saw that.. my buddy is bringing me a tool that fits under and cuts the adhesive, but I need the part number for the seal that wraps around the top of the windshield. Maybe it's more of a gasket but I know I need to replace it because it comes in contact with the T-top so I want to make sure it doesn't leak.

Also, any tips for polishing the glass to make it nice and clear. I've got some very light scratches and a little dirt and whatnot that I'd like to clear up on the windshield.

It's not a seal, it's a molding. You should be able to reuse it, I would think.

You could have gotten a wrong part number, since you did not mention the t-tops before. The moldings are different. There are also low and high gloss versions.

high gloss w/t-tops GM PART # 10293683
low gloss w/t-tops GM PART # 10313067

Re: replacing windshield

Thanks, that's why I asked because I wasn't exactly sure what it was called, or if I could reuse it. I just didn't want to take a chance and have it be something that needed to be replaced for t-top sealing purposes.
