Replacing Subframe

I'm replacing the subframe in my '94 camaro after it got damaged while removing a stubborn control arm. My step brother knows how to do this but I'd like to be informed on the matter before hand and I'm not able to contact him for a few days. I've already removed the control arms, suspension, sway bar, steering rack, and that middle arm that connects the upper control arm to the lower. How would we go about removing the old subframe, holding up the engine, then installing the new one? I was thinking along the lines of removing the oil pan and stick a piece of wood between the engine and a jack and hold it up that way while we slide out the old one and slide in the new one, or would unmounting and lowering the engine be easier?

Re: Replacing Subframe

No access to an engine hoist to hold the engine in place while you drop the K-member?

You can rent them, try local auto parts or tool rental stores.
