Post Replacing Serpentine Belt Tensioner

I had the mounting brackets for Alt, PS, AC from my 89 Camaro powder coated and the quy doing the work removed the belt tensioner from the bracket. It is spring loaded and I need some help (instructions) on how to reinstall it and set the proper spring tension. Will I need any special tools?

Thanks,
Larry Barbare aka "Bop"

Re: Replacing Serpentine Belt Tensioner

assuming its the same as in the 4th gen, it will only fit one way. you bolt it in, then get the belt mostly in the right place, use a wrench to compress the tensioner spring, put the belt over it, and let go.
