Lightbulb traction control

the ebcm for traction control and non traction control abs portion are different because the traction control one has rear wheel sensors and the non traction has a differential sensor. if you disconnect the plug to the adjuster motor on the intake the traction control fails its diagnostic on start up and disables itself. the error is "open adjuster motor" dtc 164. cruise and abs are not affected. its a simple matter to replace the throttle and cruise cables with non traction control ones. really easy to test just unplug the motor.

Look at the fuse panel under the hood, pull the ABS relay(2 of them) that is closest to the firewall. I automatically disables TCS, without having to push the button everytime you start the car. Ive been driving around like this for several months and the car drives like a champ.

I dont know for sure, because there are 2 ABS relays. When I remove both of them the ABSOP light comes on, but with the one that controls TC it doesnt and it doesnt seem to affect my brakes at all.

Correct, your brakes will work fine, you just won't have ABS.

So basically all I need is a non-traction throttle cable and then unplug the traction control and remove it? I will still throw a code but it won't effect anything? Just makin sure I got this all right

when the adjuster motor is disconnected the traction control fails its diag on start up. the light goes on on the dash that traction control is off and a dtc 164 is set in the ebcm. no dtcs on the engine pcm. abs and cruise still work. i got the cables from dal for a non traction car, works great. its really easy to do, just remove the black cover for the traction control motor on the intake and remove the 2 wire connector to the adjuster motor. if you change your mind you can just plug it back in

what will disabling traction control do for you? Does it make your car burn out good? I think mine is disabled, When I start the car the traction light comes on when I take off, even wheni'm only giving a little bit of gas.

You can turn it off manually, but if you have it on it is impossable to do a burn out. You can hardly chirp the tires.

if I slam on the gas my car peels out for at least 5 seconds. It starts off straight, fishtails a little, then straightens out! Is this normal for an LT1, or am i supposed to get great traction? Also when I go around curves, even when I give a little gas, it still fishtails, its dangerous in the rain!

So what you are saying is that if you just unplug the wires going to the traction control motor you have disabled TCS while keeping ABS? That doesn't sound right. I thought there was more involved to keep ABS.
