I have had a NASTY rattle in the console around the shifter for a while now. I have done everything I can think off, I have looked for loose change, tightened all bolts, wrapped "loose" wires with tape, and cotton *****, etc. I can't get rid of this thing. The rattle isn't in the upper console plate (the top part that is removable with the shifter pattern), as I drove around without it to see where the rattle was coming from. Also it isn't in the cutout switch as I removed that too for testing to see where it was coming from.

Has anyone else had this, and what did you do to get rid of it? All help is greatly appreciated. This is driving me absolutely crazy, I can't stand driving this car, as it sounds like it is falling a part every time I get over any pavement that isn't perfectly smooth, which is 99% of the time I spend driving the car..

I'm VERY gentle on my car and interior and I came out one day and my consol was cracked! infront of the ash tray before the cubby hold, It just cracked! I didnt do anything!

Mine has little rattles in it, but they are overshadowed by the exhaust rattle and the rattle under the floor from the metal sheething over the brake hoses

 

I am going to go with a worn out transmission mount.
