Raptor Shift Light

I was thinking about picking up a Raptor Shift light for my car since they are the best priced I have seen. ($85). Does anyone have feedback on these?? Also if you have one what color did you get??

Re: Raptor Shift Light

couldnt you just watch the tach and shift when you think its approprate instead of spending $85 on a light that flashes when its time...

Re: Raptor Shift Light

The factory tach lags and is not accurate. Plus I do a lot of bracket racing so consistancy is key.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

I bought a Harlan for less about $30 less than a Raptor. Bought a red one and placed it into my the right-most vent in the middle of the dash. Works great!

Any idea if he is still selling them? The last update on his website was December of '05.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

I have had the harlan installed for over a year and a half. Works great and its really nice to keep ur eyes on the road/track when banging the gears at the site of the light. Its programmable obviously and very bright even during the daytime. I pit mine in the drivers side defrost vent. Looks nice and works well.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

I have the raptor, but I got a good deal on a used one. Call harlan and see how soon they can ship one out. I've heard they're either not in business anymore or just have a very long wait for products. I'm very happy with my purchase. Gotta love the adjustability instead of buying a seperate rpm module and/or pills.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

Sweet, I think I'll send Harlan an e-mail and see what the deal is.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

I have a Raptor mounted in my center dash vent. It is a red light. I love it. Keeps you eyes off the dash and on the road.

Re: Raptor Shift Light

I mounted mine on the steering column with some double sided tape. I just wanted to hook it up fast instead of trying to fish the wire down from the vent. I also plugged it into my MSD box and it's much more accurate than the stock tach.
