rap module short

My car has blown two rap modules and after further checking, it appears circiut 75 (connector B) has a short to ground and I want to know if it goes anywhere other than the fuse panel. Is there anyplace in the wiring that would cause a short like a sharp piece of metal, etc? It would be really nice to know exactly where that wire runs from the rap module to the fuse panel.

Re: rap module short

Circuit 75 on the dark blue wire goes from the I/P fuse panel through the large 48 pin connector (c200) located by the LH kick panel and then onto the RAP.

However, if that circuit had a short to ground, it would blow the radio fuse #17 (15amp) and it would blow the power accy fuse #7 (15amp). These 2 fuses would blow before any damage could be done to the 2 internal relays in the RAP. It would appear that a short on that line would not damage the RAP.

You didn't mention the fuses, how did you conclude that line was shorted to ground?

Re: rap module short

fuses never blew. I used an ohm meter to check resistance to ground, and it was 0.1 ohms. This is with the rap module disconnected. I woule not think the fuses would blow if the short was before them. The rap module seemed to act as a fuse when it blew.

Re: rap module short

Would someone check the resistance to ground of the blue wire to connector b with the rap module unplugged so I can have a reference? TIA.
