When I turn on the A/C on my 1995 Firebird the compressor does not run amd the radiator fan does not come on. I have looked at wiring diagrams but cannot determine if the compressor running and the fan running are related. The fan motor will run with 12 volts applied and the relay works but the computer does not ground it when a/c is turned on. Help please.

 

I think the a/c must function before the computer will turn on the fans with it. I don't specifically know for sure, but it makes sense to me. The whole purpose of turning the fans on is to give good a/c performance. So, if the a/c is not working, the fans aren't needed.

 

check the plug in on the compressor, if it's not getting anything then time to trace back. My connector went up and I bought a new one at napa, bout 11 bucks, and cut the old one off, spiced the new one in, plugged it in, and everything worked like it should.
