radiator coolant fill procedure

hey guys just swapped out the old radiator on my 95 camaro and wondering if there is any secret tips or tricks for refilling the radiator?

i pretty much just filled it up and let it run and keep fillingit up when it gets low.

now its thenext day did a little bit of driving and after the car cools down i go check the fluid level in the radiator and its low.. top it off and drive it again.. next time i check it the fluid is low.

now is this normal? should it be low once the engine cools down for like two hours? or do i need to just keep filling it up?

im sure its all goin in my overfull resevior just thought id ask the experts to make sure im not screwin my car over now.

ALSO, cooling fans. mine dont seem to be turning on and looks like the car is gettin hot when im at the stop lights. runs nice and cool on the highway.
is there anyway the fans could have been damaged? i just unplugged them and put them back in and replugged them in... fuses look good am i overlooking something?

I know that it will take a few heat cycles for coolant to fill all the passages. You bled the system correctly with the two bleed screws? Fans could be a number of things, but I wouldn't know where to start. Park it and let it get up to temp to make sure if the fans are coming on or not, since you're not sure.

just wanted to say props to shoebox. read that article on the site there and it really helped me figure it out.

redid the connection at the waterpump (temp sensor) and then the fans started working.

HOORAY

they dont come on with the AC but i think thats be cuase i lost all pressure built up in the lines when i disconnected them.. gonna have to get that recharged even though summers almost over.. man its so nice to have AC.
