I was wondering why the pipe over the axle has a bend on it. i have the center mounted exhaust system from factory, then i added the loud mouth resonator and noticed the pipe was bent. looked at slp website and couldnt tell if the loud mouth pipe was bent... went to a muffler shop and they said if i changed the pipe it would hit the car...

 

What exactly are you talking about? All cars had a single bent pipe over the axle that either went into a muffler with one outlet, or a dual outlet wether the dual was in the middle, to one side, or both sides.

 

are you saying the bend over the axle has a "dent" in it.

cause if it's mounted correctly...it shouldn't have it or need it

 

Not sure if this is what you mean, but the bend is for suspension travel. Namely the rear axle.

 

thats what i meant was the bent on the pipe the goes right over the axle.. i just wanted to know if all exhaust systems pipe that go over the axle have that bend...

 

unless you can figure out a way to run the exhaust pipe through the axle

 

i dont mean the curve that goes over the axle i mean the pipe that is curved over axle has a bend on it right over the panrod bar
