Quick stupid Q....
Quick stupid Q....
What are the specs on an FM14 cam and who sells it? I've tried Texas Speed TBYRNE Motorsports and LS1 Speed...
I'm trying to decide on a cam that I would use for a stock iinternal LS1 and would eventually be good w/ F.I. (P1-SC)
TSP Torquer or FM14?

Futral Motorsports
232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA - aggressive profile with a 3000-7000 RPM range, rough idle
www.futralmotorsports.com
that would be why it's called the FM...
i'm pretty happy with my Torquer, although i think i need to get a better tune. i think it has 400rwhp in it no problem with a good tune. i was kindda disappointed with my 382. but then again it was on a slipping clutch and also a very rushed tune.
from what i've read, the futral cams are pretty much top of the game right now. i've seen some blow by the 400rwhp mark cam only with bolt ons and a good tune.
from what i've also heard is that the lobe profiles are pretty freaking aggressive, making them a little hard on springs. it probably would be prudent to change springs ever 30k miles or so. but don't quote me on this.
i think either cam you'll be happy with.
i'm running the original torquer with all the bolt ons and now with true duals...and it's loud as hell...

Re: Quick stupid Q....
No ****!! Kewl!! If I do a cam I'll do the springs and pushrods at the same time.
W/ that torquer cam, would that be taking in too much volume to be using it in an FI setup??
When I had my LS1 Edit done ( www.eastsideperformance.net ) They recomended the FM14 w/ those exact duration specs! 232/234 !! YES!!
I'd like a rough idle but not too much. Any sound clips??

Re: Quick stupid Q....
well you have to do springs when you do a cam that big...stock springs only handle .525" lift....and both of those cams are much bigger.
i really need to make a sound clip. maybe i'll video something this weekend.
although it will be through LTs, no cats, 3" xpipe duals and no mufflers.
