Question on Transmission Coolers..

I'd like to have one installed, Is it true they are notorius for leaking? Mind you, I will not install it myself due to no experience with transmissions. If I have a reputable shop do it are there any downsides? Might as well have the transmission flushed and synthetic thrown in while im there.. What do you guys think?

Installed mine myself, and has not leaked yet. They are not hard to install, and they make kits that have everything you need.

Re: Question on Transmission Coolers..

I put one in my Blazer for towing and added security for the feeble tranny that it has.

No leaks.

I really don't see how there could be - unless it was installed incorrectly.

Do it yourself - not hard at all. Mine hasn't leaked.
