Re: what headers?

mac mids....

much better than shorties....although they still are not emissions legal, least not any more than LTs...since they relocate the cats

Re: what headers?

It took 1 month for me to get my pacesetters and the flanges were warped. I am supposed to get replacements but now it is month 3+ and I still don't have any headers

I have heard that plug access on the Pacesetter mids is a nightmare.... the long tubes however is a walk in the park.

Re: what headers?

Hands down, go with the MAC mids....they flow ALMOST as well as long tubes and a lot better than shorties, all while being emissions compliant (if you care about that guff).
Get the HTC coated ones.
I bought mine quite a while ago with the Y-pipe for $425.
On a stock LT1 MAC claims gains of 28.8rwhp with no other mods.
On a modified engine headers will add up to more than that.
The emission testing that we have in Michigan should be FORCED onto all the other states. ZERO state standards for cars....No stinkin' sniffer testing NOR visual inspection.
If it passed the federal regs when it was sold new, it is good for the life of the car, which rocks....allows for virtually unlimited mods, even on the street.
We dont have any stinkin' safety inspections here either !
I'd like to see these policies forced onto those in Envri-fornia.

We don't want to run into LA-style smog all around the world. That would suit nobody. If we trash the environment we trash ourselves. I personally don't want to get cancer and or not be able to leave my house w/out a respirator due to the hazardous gases b/c people want to gain 5rwHP from not running their cats!!! Some regulations are in place for a reason, and many are implemented as a preventative to something bad happening b/c it prolly already has in some isolated space/time. If your cat is working right and you do the right mods you'll pass "the sniffer test"

Does that include the y-pipe? If not, then that is pretty expensive. You can buy the ceramic coated long tubes from Summit for 430.00 and the y-pipe for another 130.00
