probably just a stupid idea but..
if i have no heater core, how much water exactly is getting pumped through those lines that went to it,
say i was to run a tranny cooler or some kinda small radiator in place of the heater core and left it somewhere underhood,
does anyone think id see a difference in coolant temp?
i have a feeling its a stupid idea but i was just thinkin about it because turning on the heat drops the temp so much, up to 30 degrees when my car was stock..

I can't see how turning on the heater would drop the temp like that, unless there was problems with the radiator. Therefore, I would not think adding something to the heater hoses would be of use. The stock cooling system is well capable of keeping the engine cool. A lower temp thermostat and cooling fan reprogramming can enhance that.

and in 98 degree sun + traffic is not the best for worked engines.. if doing this dumb little idea dropped the temp even like 5 or 10 degrees that could be a big help to people with overheating problems..
oh, dont think for a second im shunning or disagreeing with you im just tossing this idea around in my head, i know you know your **** haha youve helped me out once for twice before
Argumentively, the "cooler" water in the heater core or substituted resevoir dumped into the system would affect the water temp...for about a few seconds, but overall, no. The running block and air circulation will determine the water temp.
160 thermostat and fan reprogramming, even a manul fan switch would be a better bet, imho.
