Power window

Today I rolled down my window and it wouldn't roll back up. The switch is only 2 months old. I hit my armrest with a fist and it worked. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Loose connection???? Or your motor may be on the starting stages of going out...

My guess is that your motor is on its way out and I don't think hitting the switch had anything to do with it. Basically the motor has thermistors in it I believe and they tend to overheat and cause the motor to fail. So if you let it cool down the window will work until it overheats again and my guess is thats what is happening

To know for sure, you need roll it down, then attempt to roll it up. If it goes up then stops, wait a minute or two and see if it will go up a little more. If that's what happens, then your motor is probably out. If you just hit it and it rolled up all the way with no problems, I would think it's probably a loose wire or switch gone bad.

Read this and tell me what you think.

My pass. side window rolls down but not up via the pass. side switch, but goes up and down flawless via the drivers....must be the switch right? Just reaplaced it with a brand new one and it does the same thing. Cant be the motor if it works flawlessly via the drivers switch, so it must be wiring? It has done this since i bought it and i've taken he door panel off 2 or 3 times so i couldnt really be a pinched wire or anything.....what are my options?

Howdy neigbor, it's probably the window motor which I am about to replace again in the driver's door.

I get mine from AutoZone and they come with a lifetime warranty.
They are pretty easy to replace using Rob(Shoebox)'s page.

Shoeboxs website says it's common for the buttons to crack making it so you have to push the button down hard. I would look at the switch closely for a crack in it.

The switch is brand new! and the old one is the same way.......if it were the switch then they would both have to be damaged in the exact same way(i.e. i would believe it to be the switch if the new one moved the window up but not down, when the old one moves the window down but not up....). I've pushed on it hard, no change, hard enough to break it, its not the switch.........what could it be?
