Noticed leak friday night. Replaced fluid, it drained out quickly into puddle on the ground. Replaced PWR steering pump sat. Removed hoses to check for leaks. Replaced everything and pump. topped up. Steering was normal. drove down the street to clean car up. after letting it idle while i washed the exterior. I got back in steering tough, like pump wasn't working. I popped cap off, fluid was at correct level. drove home showered. Came out later, steering normal. Drove to town to get a movie (12 miles one way) Go to turn into movie store and steering hard like i have no assist. pull into stall hard as anything. I bring rpms up to 4000, works fine. Upset that i have spent all this time installing bum pump I drive home park it. Ressearched last night. Re did air bleeding by jacking car up turning wheels left right , and holding from time to time at lock. Car was fine when I drove it to the area i was gonna work at. Fine while in the air. Played with dogs, while fideo fetched I re-checked steering (while still in the air) hard to turn. Mad put it on the ground. left it. Came out several hours later (cap was left of) Steering fine , go for cruise. 10 miles into it hard again. Came home, re did everything,up in the air, left-right left right, hold..etc etc. Left it alone back to being stubborn. on the ground again, idling now as I type this. What gives? New Serp belt, not slipping from what I can see. No fluid loss at all. NO screaming pump...just a rrrrrrr as it labors my commands. So why is it fine cold, but wants to be a d*ck when hot or warm?

 

Ive installed "new" pumps that where bad out of the box. Actually, two in a row for the same vehicle. It was a dodge caravan wich was a royal PITA. You may need to pull it again and replcace.
