So I've been working on the FireChicken forever, I go start it for the first time, (with new motor and blower)and the Battery has a dead cell, I replace it, try to start it, and I get a loud click from the starter. I had a spare starter, swap it out and when I plug the + terminal to the battery, it sparks and catches fire.......and melts the post. Any ideas...I've never seen this.

Either you hooked it up wrong or the spare starter or lead to starter has a dead short to ground.
