power locks, interior lights, electrical problems, PLEASE HELP!
Ok, so here's the deal. This stuff happened a long time ago when i had two camaros and didn't drive this one much at all, so i figured I'd get around to looking at it later, but now its been so long that I don't even remember what all I was doing. So anyway, here's the problem...
To start...its a 96 Z28. If I remember correctly, these problems started after I did a clutch replacement, so I just assumed that I didn't plug something back in right, but I wasn't about to tear it all down again to find it that day. 1) The Interior lights no longer work at all...not when I open the door, turn them on one by one, roll the dimmer switch all the way up. nothing. 2) The power locks don't work at all, whether I use the actual switch, or the keyless remote. HOWEVER, i checked it while laying under the passenger side dash, and when I hit the power lock button, the BCM clicks. Nothing happens, but it does click. The Hatch release does work, and there are no problems with the radio (but the radio is aftermarket). I mention that only because I know the BCM controls those things also. 3) the cigarette lighter doesn't work. That may be a completely different cause, but I have no idea.
So, I just tore everything down and noticed that there is a 3 "port" plug that is wired and taped very close to the cigarette lighter clip once everything is taken apart. No idea what its supposed to be plugged into if anything.
If it matters, I have an aftermarket stereo and an aftermarket alarm...not sure if that renders some plugs useless or anything.
One more thing...I think this is totally unrelated, but the speedo doesn't work after this job was done either...I wasn't very concerned about it because I have new gears and different sized wheels so it would have been pretty far off anyway....but I think I might have plugged the reverse lockout into the speedo port or something.
I'm sorry about this being so long, but I'm really trying to get this thing running well and back into good shape, so if you can offer anything at all, please do. I know there are some good electrical people on here, so I'm hoping....
Thanks in advance!

yea...that was the one thing I did when it first happened because that didn't involve tearing it apart again. nothing wrong then, and I checked again tonight when I was working on it. anything else?
