Please help.... power windows
My fiancee has been driving my '98 Z for a few weeks, because she likes it better than her 2002 Crapstang GT convertible. Today she brings it back, and says that the power windows stopped working.
All fuses appear to be good, switched the 30 amp breaker with the one for the defroster above, and it does the same thing. Both windows make noise, and move the slightest bit, but don't operate as normal. The driver's side did move down about 3", and then went back up once.
Do you think the switch is bad based on those symptoms?

Sounds like a bad window motor to me - it's dead common with these cars
When mine went it was like the window was froze, but after letting it sit I was able to move it again so I could close it.

Unlikely that both motors would go out simultaneously... guess it's possible though. Like someone already asked, does the passenger switch do the same thing? That's how to rule out the switch. If the fuse blew, it'd be all or nothing, so it's not that. Maybe a short in the wiring, or I guess both motors could be bad...
Both windows were doing the same thing. I took it out and drove it, and they started working again. Have both been working ever since, without issue.
Maybe some kind of bad connection or something. I'm an electrical idiot, so pretty clueless here.

She's all but converted. I took the Camaro to work yesterday, and she called griping that she misses it. Was complaining that after driving it, the Mustang feels like it won't get out of it's own way. We're now shopping for a LS1 automatic convertible, and the Mustang will be for sale.
I had to replace my driver's side window.
There is a built-in circuit breaker in the motor that trips during the auto window-down function.
This seems to wear out and trip pre-maturely (especially in the up direction when it draws more current).
If your passenger window gets as much use as the driver's window, then it will wear out just as fast.
