Passenger Side Air Bag Cutout Switch

Hey folkIs

I have a '97 Camaro SS with of course dual front airbags. However, my little man (6 years old, and Baby Sister loving the car just as much at onl 3) loves the car, and frequently calls for a burnout or if it's a llittle dark and secluded. He also, to his Mother's dismay, asked me to do a 'donut trick' one day when th parking lot was empty at Wal-Mart, my X-Wife of 14 years was present with us (before the divorce) and he called for a 'Donut Trick Over There where there weren't any cars parked... knowing after 14 years what a 'donut trick' was and was NOT impressed that Had a neighbor as crazy as me! Now there's a song on the radio and in some part of it they sing something that I believe only SOUNDS like VROOM!, and the Baby Girl screams for a burnout every time she hears tut line in the song, so if we're at a traffic light, there we sit with Sis and Bud yelling "VROOM it DAD, VROOM it Dad!!!" So if stopped in traffic, I have to just rev it up to 5,000 or so to keep them satisfied until we can get out in the open and I can get on it!!!

Anyway, they can't see much from the back seats, and can't ride in the front because of the driver's side airbag, so I need a shutoff switch for the passenger side air bag so I don't have to pull the fuse every time I take the kids in the front seat...

Was there an option in '97 for this switch? I know a lot of trucks and SUV's had the switch, but never heard of a Camaro with one, never seen a Camaro with one... I thought for a while there was a waro going on over whether the airbag saves you or kills you, and they demanded legislature that all dealers HAD to install a shutoff switch in any vehicle so equipped. That was a long time ago though.

Does anyone have a Camaro with a shutoff switch for the passenger side airbag?

It wasn't an option in 97 or any of the years for that matter.

They changed the law so the Dealers can install a shutoff switch if you ask for it and pay for it.
