Owner/President of Mufflex?

Who would I contact at Mufflex to actually get something I want from them. I called yesterday and asked if I could order the 4" section that goes over the axle and into the muffler...just that piece only. Told them mine was damaged in a car accident and they still would not work with me, I was told I'd have to buy the whole system. Cheapest one is $498 w/o shipping.

I don't know who I was talking to, but I figure if I talk to someone who actually has some pull, I might get somewhere. Thanks...also, any other suggestions would be appreciated....reasonable ones.

Suggestion... you are most likely SOL.

I needed just a section as well and no go. They told me they had a problem in the past with a guy or guys buying the sections and reselling them so they won't even sell anybody a single piece now Kinda sucks for the guys who don't want to abuse them and just need a piece

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

Most likely, if you called in the last couple of days, you were already talking to the owner - "Denny". He will most likely be the person that answers the phone, since he is recovering from a moto-X accident involving a broken collarbone, 3 broken ribs and a punctured lung, and can't work in the shop. But he only returned to the shop recently.

If you don't think that's who you talked to, try another call and ask specifically to talk to him.

Damn. I guess I'll have to piece something together or bite the bullet.

Well, like Fred said, it's worth a shot to call and ask for Denny directly. He might be feeling generous or has forgotten a little about what happened in the past

Odd timing on this one... I was in his shop this past Tuesday talking to him about some work on the Formula and on my son's car. If I get back there in the next couple of days, I'll ask him about the IM pipe replacement.

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

I appreciate the kind gesture, Fred. Please let me know as soon as practical. I did a search in the parts for sale section and found two people selling Mufflex systems. One with a spintech for $425 and one with a bullet for $350. Considering, but would really rather have the IM pipe instead.

It will probably be difficult to find a shop that has the capability to bend 4" tubing correctly.

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

I've been hard pressed to find ANY place around that will mandrel bend 4" for a decent price. Most shops just don't have the equipment or supplies. Be way easier and probably cheaper to get it from Mufflex.

Ditto. But, it isn't about price in my area... it isn't possible because they just don't have the equipment. Heck, NOBODY can even bend 4" pipe let alone mandrel bend it!!!

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

Too bad I already sold (but haven't shipped) my 4" Mufflex. But I had to cut the IM pipe right in front of the axle, because the entire system was welded by Mufflex when they installed it. Maybe I should have asked for more than $175 + shipping....

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

Since you mentioned it was damaged, couldn't you show Mufflex a pic so that they weren't worried about you selling the part?

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?

Fred...that was cold.

I don't have the piece anymore, that's about the only part of the system that's a true Mufflex part. I modified my hooker aerochamber muffler to accept 4" in and have two 3.5" outs...then they curve around and exit thru 2 semi-slant rolled tips under the license plate. Pretty much like the Viper.

Re: Owner/President of Mufflex?
