t-56 Reverse lockout - safe to leave unplugged?

Im going to do the a4 - m6 swap one of these days and im wondering if its safe to leave the reverse lockout unplugged? Ive read some people say plug it in, and some ppl say leave it unplugged just to eliminate a possible problem down the road. what do you guys think?

thanks

Re: Reverse lcokout - safe to leave unplugged?

no, it's not safe.

It would be easy to get it in reverse instead of 5th. Imaging puting it in reverse at 50 mph. The result could be loss of vehicle control and a bad accident.

One thing I'm not sure of is how hard it would be to push it in reverse at speed, if the reverse synchro would allow it. I know it is hard to push it in first while going over 40 mph or so. It would still be dangerous.
