I'm looking at a 2001 Trans am,and the GVWR says 4278 lb. Are all LS1's this heavy?You can see it at Autotrader (parkway motor cars,Valencia,ca.91355.I have no idea.

 

GVWR is not the weight of the car. Its the maximum allowable weight, including weight of a full load of driver/passengers and cargo. There's no reason an LS1 would be any heavier than an LT1. PRobably a shade lighter due to the aluminum block.

I think the LS1 cars are ever so slightly lighter as Injuneer said. Without researching it, that's just a guess, but I'm pretty sure they are at least 50 pounds lighter.
