Oil on spark plug threads

Oil on spark plug threads

Well, as title says i'm doing my ls1 spark plugs... got almost all the way done with the driver side... and the one closest to the firewall, i found oil on the threads... what does this mean?

hope not... but i wont rule it out...

if the head gasket was blown, it would only be in once cylinder?

nono... not milky...

its just smells like oil and its brown like oil..

just my opinion but on lt1s most of the time its just the valve cover leaking. i know it was on my car and it just travels down that way.

how would it get on the threads if it was the valve cover?
