95s have a port in the side of the block just above the oil filer pad. 1/8" npt works. (I think the 93's (?) had the oil pressure gauge sensor there but ours use the port on the top near the fuel pressure regulator)

trying to do the same for my 99ss, they put the oil gauge in the pod but I found the tubing tucked under the dash. It was never installed. Is that in the same location for my 99. Also where is that port exactly

LS1 (your 99) and LT1 (his 95) blocks are a bit different. Not likely they would have the spare pressure tap in the same location.

On the LT1, Shoebox has a photo:

....but "just above the oil fil(t)er pad" is a pretty accurate description, even without the photo.

thanks, I will look to do the install on the next oil change. Probably easier to do it then or can I do it before.

I used that port for an "idiot light" oil pressure switch to ground a light and warning buzzer but I remember the port is recessed a little and with the lip of the filter pad interferring I needed to use a short male-female 1/4" x 1/4" stand-off fitting between the block and the switch.

This works for the LT1 blocks ... I don't know where a spare pressure side, oil system port is on LS blocks.

The LS1 should have a similar port right above the filter. I'm not sure what is involved with the install though. Post #3:
