New horn help

New horn help

I just bought a new horn for my 98 z28. it will be an auxerilly horn with a button. it came with a rely and i was wondering if any one knew how to hook it up. i know it has to connect to the battery but how do you do that. any suggestions would be helpful

Arg.. you need to hook it up to a fused source either get an inline fuse or run a wire to the fuse panal.

How come you don't hook it up to the OEM horn circuit?

thanks, i dident want to wire it to the oem horn b/c i want to be able to use both. but i have two buttons on the steering wheel is it possible to use one button for my new horn and one for the oem one. thanks for the response

If your going to put a button in a cab anyway you could instead get a DPST switch that way you could flip it one way to use the OEM horn or the other for the new horn and still use the steering wheel button. That would be pretty trick!

a DPST swith is a Double Pole Single throw which means you can wire one horn on each side of the switch then the power on the third terminal. This way you can switch between them. Or you can get fancy and get a DPDT Double Pole Double throw switch and switch between them or even turn them both on
