new car

I have just purchased a 1998 z28 automatic and need some help on a few things i am not sure about.

1. there is a noise that sounds like whining, coming from what appears to be the drivers rear. I can only hear it when i back up and turn right or when i turn left at slow speeds kind of a harder turn. I dont know what the whining noise is, there appears to be somewhat of a slippage when i have turned to the left and stopped and then drive forward it is kind of a shutter but barely noticeable, but aggrivating at the same time.

Also, when the car is running there is a noise that sounds like the air compressor squeking but its not that i think it may be the fans, but im not sure either, any one have any ideas on possible answers to my problems???

Thanks in advance,
Tyler

first problem sounds like the rear differential. could be as simple as the previous owner or dealer changed the fluid but never put in the limited slip additive that is needed.

i would start with that

could be the whole unit is taking a dump...

second issue is probably just the "sewing machine" sound that the Ls1 has. it sucks...but its part of the game.

unless its something like a belt, belt tensioner or alternator bearing going out.
