need help heard a weird noise today
ok today when i was driving home from work i heard this really loud buzzing noise from my car after awhile driving i decided to pull over and find where it was comming from. well i end up finding the buzzing noise from underneath my car towards the back. im pretty good at finding out whats wrong with my car when things break but im lost guys its a weird buzzing noise sounds kind of mechanical. any idea what could even cause a noise like that with the car turned on and in park. for a sec i thought it was my brakes when i was driving but i know the noise wont still happen when its in park. whatever help you guys can give me is great.
My guess is the fuel pump may be going. Do a pressure check on your fuel lines. But in my case, it didn't matter..when my fuel pump went out..it just died. Driving fine one minute..looking for someone to help push it out of the intersection the next minute.
But yes, listen closer if it's a "whine" or a rubbing. If you're car makes that noise standing still, not much it could be. Could be your exhaust rubbing on something...but I would lean towards fuel pump.

thanks for your help guys but ya thats what i figured that could only possibley make that noise with the car staying staying in park. i left the car off and just turned ignation to the on position but i didnt hear the fuel pump strugling but i think your rite its just about to shut down soon minus well change it out. is it as hard as i think its going to be? on my other car it was kind of easy just had to remove starps to tank and fuel lines then remove fuel pump.
Problem is the fuel tank is above the rear end so you only have 2 options: Drop rear end to drop tank, or you cut a hole in the actual car itself on the "shelf" in front of the trunk to expose the fuel lines and ultimately the top where the fuel pump is. I did the later, there is a website that shows you how to do it, either way it still sucks.
