My top does not close
Has anyone with a convertible a good guess what is broke? My top does not close, It does not have enough power to push the top up from the fold down position.
Is there a way to check the fluid level in the system..?
Or is it the pump that is shot..?
Or does someone have a guess?

Re: My top does not close
In your trunk, drivers side under the flap is the pump. It takes hyd. oil and can be checked and filled up. There is a lever on top of the pump, turn it 90 degrees out and it disconnects the hyd. pump from the system. You can manually pull up and down your top, without damaging anything. Also, look at your torx bolts on the frame joints, see if they are not too tight. When I get a rattle in the top over bumps the torx's need tightening, when the top goes up real slow, I tightend them too tight. I think the torx is a size 25, I used a flat racheting tool to insert the torx into to get to them, especially to tighten the bumpers that rest over the window. Hope that helps.

Try giving your pedal a little gas as you're lowering the top.
When I had my underdrive pulley I had to rev up the engine a bit to get the top to move faster and get past the first fold.
Just a thought.
