My 97 does this time from time...

I dont have any burnt out bulbs though...

I was told it is the light sockets, But how does one troubleshoot the bad light socket or sockets ??

Lightbulb Re: my signal lights dont blink!

If you want your lights to blink even with a burned out blub.

Gat an heavy duty blinker relay, or an electronic one. They are used with towing trailers. They do not work off of heat from the current going to the blubs like the stock ones do.

Downside, you can't tell when your blubs are burned out. The blinker on the dash will still work. Only cost 4-5 bucks.

Re: my signal lights dont blink!

if your bulbs all work it can also be a bad taillight harness, its pretty common problem. my sulotion was to grab a used ls1 tail light harness from ebay for 25 bucks. good luck.

Re: my signal lights dont blink!

I had the same problem on my 95 z. We fixed it by soldering a ground to the positive terminal of the tail-light. Doesnt sound right at all but it worked! No problems since...

Re: my signal lights dont blink!

yeah a bad ground on the harness will cause that too. but check yoru bulbs, then the ground, then swap out the harness for a newer ls1 one. the sockets in the ls1 harness is much better.

I had the same problem with my 94 Z and it was the light socket.

When I was installing my clear corners I had the same problem on one side. Turns out the bulbs that are made to go in only one way can easily be put in two ways so all I did was take it out and turn it 180* and it worked great. I'm not sure how recently you have replaced the bulb, but it could be the case.
