My fans come on!!!

Well, it only took 6 months, but I finally got my fans to turn on by themselves. Since we have all the posts by people who have lost all hope in getting theirs to turn on, I figured this would be a nice change. I have no idea what I did, I just pulled all the relays and tested them, disconnected and reconnected my manual switch, and I replaced the temp gauge sensor I broke when doing my headers. I guess it was one of the three.

My guess would be your temp guage sensor. If the computer does not know how hot the engine is, it can't turn on the fans right?

Re: My fans come on!!!

Most likely, the coolant temp sensor he broke when doing headers was the one on the drivers side head. That's for the gauge only, doesn't feed the PCM. The PCM sensor is on the water pump.... not sure how he could break that installing headers. If he did somehow manage to break the one on the water pump, it would definitely have caused the problems he had (and a few more).

It would probably be helpful for people using this thread in the future if he explained which sensor he broke/replaced.

It wasn't the one on the water pump, it was the other one. I didn't think that would make a difference, so I guess I have no idea what it was.
