My car isn't polo green?
My car isn't polo green?
I thought that all camaros that were green were polo green. I looked up the paint code that is on my car in my dads paint chip book and my color is called "Dark Yellow Green Poly". A few paint chips down is "Polo Green Poly" but it is not my number.
They look almost the same color but mine has a yellow tint to it.

Re: My car isn't polo green?
GM used the same paint color on several different lines of cars. Each car gave it a different name. On the Firebirds in 94, dark green was "Dark Green Metallic" (code 48). The GM factory touchup stick was labled "Dark Yellow-Green Metallic". That's probably just the generic name GM gave the paint that they used on different lines with different names. In 94, Camaro called the same color "Polo Green Metallic".
Re: My car isn't polo green?
hmmm thats weird. The paint chips, "dark yellow green poly" and "polo green poly", look different. If GM used the "polo green" on the camaros, why is my car labeled "dark yellow green poly".
lol weird.....

Re: My car isn't polo green?
I thought I explained it pretty clearly. In 1994 GM mixed up a batch of paint, gave it color code "48" and called it "Dark Yellow Green Metallic". The put some of that paint on Firebirds, and CALLED it "Dark Green Metallic". They put some of that paint on Camaros and CALLED it "Polo Green Metallic". They probably put is on a few other brands of cars and called it other names.
What is the code on your car?
What is the color code on the chip labeled "Dark Yellow Green Metallic"?
What is the color code on the chip labeled "Polo Green Poly"? Could it possibly be "31", the color used on the 98+ Camaros and called "Bright Green Metallic"? Or maybe its a color chip for the much earlier Corvettes, which also used a color called "Polo Green".

Code on car: WA 9806
WA 9806 in the PPG book, also numbered 4457 and 48: "dark yellow green poly"
Polo green in book: WA 9529, 4435 and 91
This is under "1994 General Motors".
I dunno, I just thought I had a rare screw up from the factory.
