Multiple temp sensors?

I have been working on a heating problem and noticed my 94 is running cold. In addition both cooling fans are coming on when the engine is cold, and the A/C is off. The temp gauge only reads around 175 at best. I changed the thermostat and tried flushing the heater hoses, but still no heat. I know there is a temp gage sensor on the side of engine, is there another one ? where would it be, I cant think of another reason for the fans to turn on. I pulled the individual relays to turn the fans off, and left the last one, i believe is controlled by the temp gauge sensor.

Check the temp sensor in the water pump. My car has heat though when it reaches 175. Maybe your heater core is pluged up.

Is the car overheating at all? If it is going in the red, and the cooling fans aren't coming on,then there is a problem. As for the lack of heat, have you tried flushing the heater core itself?

No over heating, the check engine light does come on, I believe thats why the fans are on, Thanks ! I will have it scanned, I still dont have any heat. I pulled the heater hoses and flushed them, I have a steady stream in and out of the Heater Core. The engine according to the gauge is running cool. I pulled the fan relays and the guage went to normal temp around 180 or so. Do you think I may have a clog in the water pump ?

You might want to add a "signature" showing basic info about your car, including year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. Without knowing that info, everyone has to guess what engine/cooling system you are talking about. You indicated in the post that it is a 94.... but is it a V6 or a V8? That might affect the answer.
