Muffler placement

I currently have an stainless steel ATR catback and I'm looking to replace the muffler. The ATR muffler that's on now is coming apart at the seams and because the exhaust shop put small tack welds to keep the piping from shifting, ATR will not cover it under warrenty. Due to the design, I don't think that I can just find any muffler to put into its place. Anyways, I am thinking of puting a Y right after the rear end like the loudmouth and run 2 bullet style mufflers on each side on the tail pipes. Because my intermediate pipe runs so close to the drive shaft, I cannot run one muffler like the loudmouth setup. Would there be any problems or negatives of running the mufflers in this position? I can't think of any but would like some opinions or maybe someone is already doing this that can enlighten me with some info.
Also wondering the tone will be effected by running the mufflers so far back on the exhaust.

thanks for your comments.

Re: Muffler placement

what's so unique about the ATR muffler?

you could always just put a bullet or XR1 muffler and a single tip like the TOTL

inexpensive (well maybe not the xr1) and sound badass

Re: Muffler placement

The inlet pipe connetion on the ATR muffler is towards the front of the car as opposed to the other mufflers that I've seen thats towards the rear of the car if you know what I mean. I really don't care for the tail pipe on one side look, so I'm looking at all my options.

Thanks for the reply.
