Re: lt4 hot cam help ..

What year is your LT1? Dowel pin length will need to be changed on a 93 or 94. Good idea to upgrade the springs and retainers/locks. Lifters might be a good idea if the engine has high miles.

As far as supporting mods, larger throttle body, mid- or full-length headers, 3” catback, cold air intake, PCM tune.

Manual or auto trans? High stall converter with the auto will help.

Are those “narrow body" rockers? LT1 centerbolt covers require them. Valve cover centerbolt support tabs will also need to be trimmed.

Are you doing the job yourself? I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a lot of experience doing this sort of thing. Like mentioned earlier, there are things that need to be done and correctly. I thought years ago, people were mentioning better options than the LT4 cam, but if you have all the right parts for the right price, it might not be to bad.
