I have a question about LPE CIA for my 94 Transam. I got the intake today and looked over the intructions real quick and I have a question. In the stock form of air induction on a LT1 a little plastic piece feeds air to the air box and then to the air duct throw the MAF to the Throttle body. Well in the instruction it says to remove the the first plastic piece and on firebirds that has some wires connected to it(head lamp i think). Well My question is do I really need to remove this piece since the K&N filter for the KPE CIA sits away from this. And will not removing this hurt my performance? For any help thank you very much.

 

I went ahead and removed the plastic piece, and relocated the electronics box. They even give you the velcro, might as well do it.
