Looking for an indepth book

Does anyone know of a good book for the 4L60e transmission. I've got some really great books on heads, and LT1 motors and things, but I can't find one that goes indepth about the automatic trans. I've got the shop manuels in route to my house now, and I'm sure they will help with rebuilding one, but I really want something that explains the in's and out's and why's and how's. I know that a lot of that info can be found by searching online, but I really seem to soak up more by reading books. I'm just trying to understand as much as I can about every aspect of my car.

So does anyone have any suggestions. Really any book about automatic trans, that can be related to the good 'ol 4L60e would be helpful. I want to understand the workings of an auto. Thanks for any help.

Not "sure" on this one but a 4L60E is very similar to the 700R4 of the old gens. Might help you to understand how the one works buy learning the other. There isn't much other than the control portion that is different (again, not "SURE" but have been told this). I personally junked my first 4L60E and this second car will have it swapped out hopefully in the next year and a half.
