lmperformance cam?

I was looking at the AFR 205cc Mongoose Street head and either one of these cams?

G2 G5x3 Custom Cam 112 LSA 2?? Duration
G2 G5x3 Custom Cam 114 LSA 2?? Duration

The duration numbers are question marked out because they are propietary and not to be mentioned. I have been told they make awsome numbers period. Please give me some info about them if you have experience.

Thanks,

in todays age...if they can't give you the specifics of your cam...i wouldn't bother giving them the business

what are your goals. we'll reccommend a cam...and give durations

Re: lmperformance cam?

Well I am a newbie; I don't know alot about cams. I do know I want to make great power levels from low, mid, to high. I would like balance in my cam's design; I hear some cams are all about horse power but you have to achieve high rpm's. I don't know if that is good. It is not a drag car and will only be a street car ever with regular wheels, not slicks. I want to get a great heads and cams choice. Money isn't really important as really good heads and cams for an LS1 engine. Maybe that helps of confuses you more?

The LG cams are good cams. They like to keep the specs secret though. Personally, I think they're over priced. You can get cams just as good with known specs for less.

Re: lmperformance cam?

the type of car, year, trans option, etc...would help

assuming you have the supporting mods (intake, headers, exhaust)

390-400rwhp....good drivability...224 cam and ported heads

400-425rwhp...moderate driveability....FM13, FM 14, or TSP torquer and heads

425-450rwhp....kindda iffy driveability...FM15, Magic Stick, or TRex and decent heads

Re: lmperformance cam?

I have a 2002 camaro SS with QTP long tube headers, ORYP, Hooker AeroChamber Mufflers, and CME. Putting down 347 hp on a mustang dyno with 353 tq. There are some other mods as well not mentioned. I still have the stock rearend with 3.42 gears; it's a M6.
