Angry Linkage Problem

So, my linkage appears to be messed up in my 02 z28.
I'll give a basic run down of how the gearing is setup for some odd reason.
P - R
R - R
N - N
D - D
2 - 1
1 - 1

But, if I go from bottom to top the order is

P - R
R - R
N - N
D - D
2 - 1
1 - 1

I was wondering if any of you have had this problem and if so, help a brotha out.

Re: Linkage Problem

Not sure I see any difference between the two tables. In both, it appears it's remaining in "reverse" even thought the indicator is in "park". And it's dropping into or remaining in "first" when the indicator is at "2".

Cable adjustment?

2000 (which should be similar to 2002) factory manual free download available here:

https://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti

The position of the range selector lever and the shift cable attachment are covered around page 7-300, located in Volume 3 of 3, part 1 of 2.

I'm weak on auto transmissions, but there are numerous fault codes related to the trans, that do not turn on the SES light.

Re: Linkage Problem

Oh, hell.
My bad, I meant to say on the second run through from bottom to top.
