Talking license plate options on our birds

Well, just got the final ticket that broke my camels back. Stupid cops can kiss my ***.
I got pulled over while down at midway (ST PAUL MN) becuase I looked like a drag racer. I asked him if I was racing, and he said no. So, I got mad and asked why it was ok to stereotype... anyway, long story short, he finaly found I didn't have a front plate mounted on my bumper, so he gave me a ticket for it. 112 dollars! F that.

I have it mounted on my air dam right now. You can see it plain as day when you are driving past me, that is why I have never gotten pulled over for it in the three years it has been there.

So, im going to court and fighting it.

Anyway, what have you all done to combat this stupid law? I thought I had the perfect answer there, but I guess wrong. I have a 95 formula firebird, and the lic. bracket looks like complete sh*t in my opinion. So, lets see some pics of what you have all done...

Thanks
Cody

Most laws say that the front plate must be visible from all angles..... If its on the air dam its under the bumper and low to the gound????????

Check to see if they will allow you to place your front plate on your dash.

nope, I asked that night. He said it was a hazzard cuz it could go flying in my "drag car." Grr why dont these azzhole polititions crack down on marijiwana and leave us alone! Who needs a damn front plate anyway? It doesn't do anything! Its not like you can actually read the damn thing when you go by them at even 55 mph!

Brother I hate to sound like a jerk, but if the law in your state says you need a plate mounted on your front bumper and you choose not to do so you'd best be prepared for the ticket and not complain when you get it

But that's just my opinion

I would go in there and use the angle that he pulled you over for no reason. If you didn't give him any reason to pull you over, he had no right to pull you over...unless he was profiling, that is. Profiling works for certain other groups of people, why not this case?

Checking for valid liscence, insurance and registration is reason enough to be pulled over . . . oh yeah not having a front plate in front plate state too. I'm sure that's reason enough.

But I do have one, and who needs to see a front plate? Its so stupid. They pull up BEHIND you to read the effer. They can see my front plate as they drive by me in the other lane, its a clear shot. No other cop has said anything about it, and I have been pulled over before for loud exhuast, not speeding or driving like a douche bag. I was driving nice, not rodding on it or anything. I think the profiling thing might work, cuz its true! I "looked like a drag racer". Well, he "looked like an overpaid doughnut eating *****"

Why do polititions have to suck *****? I think I will run for that crap and fix this nation.

HAHA maybe... Only mine would be more focused on eliminating stupid laws, and making ones we actually need. For instance, why do trucks get dark *** tint, but cars dont? There are so many stupid laws out there that need to go away!

Alright, I guess I am done ranting. Its just this stupid crap irritates me.

Re: license plate options on our birds

When police are looking for a vehicle that's been broadcast in a BOLO (be on the lookout) with a plate, or especially a partial plate where no vehicle info has been given and set up stationary, the first thing they'll do is look at the plate as the vehicle comes towards them, increasing the chances of getting them into custody. Do you really want to get pulled over and interrogated for something you didn't do just because your vehicle was similar to the one described? With a front plate, that'd be eliminated.

Alternately, a vehicle is parked with the front facing the roadway, they can identify the car and it's owner without putting themselves into danger or wasting time walking to the rear of the vehicle. When an EID (electronic intrusion device) call comes in and they respond, they want to know who could potentially be there.

Also, when police shoot radar, the first thing the beam hits is the license plate, increasing their revenues and bettering them in enforcing the law. Less speeders is one less thing you have to worry about as you keep your children safe when they play, or some idiot running into the side of your car down the freeway.

The list goes on and on, it's for yours and everyones safety. Quit bucking the law, you're only adding to the officers fuel for sterotyping that you're so desperately trying to avoid and probably don't realize it by being a problem. Do you really want him thinking that "those damn 'drag racers' are such a pain and think they're above the law" ? You're supposed to be cooperative and helping to better the image of our cars. I can understand where you're coming from as i didn't want to muck up the front end of my car, but after 3 or 4 tickets, i got the hint. If you're constantly a problem, you'll only be a target moreso in the future.

Make it easier for yourself and cooperate. Obviously having it on the air dam isn't right.
