Lexan windsheild replacement

Thinking about just buying the light weight lexan front windshield since mine got busted when I took my LT-1 out. I figure going with no AC and getting a new K-member along with the Lexan windshield will help offset all that extra weight of the BBC. My main question is can I still drive it on the street with the Lexan replacement and if I can will I get messed up from some weekend drivine. Probably looking at about 6000 miles a year, Any thoughts?

Re: Lexan windsheild replacement

It will not be DOT approved, so it will not be street legal. Scratches fairly easilly. Its really intended for "track cars". And, in many racing events, plastic windows are not allowed.

From Percy's Speedglass:
PERCY'S MAKES THE BEST PERFORMING, LONGEST LASTING RACING WINDSHIELDS AVAILABLE!

This product is not yet D.O.T. Approved and is currently illegal for usage on U.S. Highways.
Percy’s High Performance, Inc. Assumes no liability or responsibility of this product if used illegally

Re: Lexan windsheild replacement

Thanks for the info Injuneer. I was looking in a catalog that I had and it didn't say anything about DOT approved, just the price.
