Keyless entry getting weak.

My keyless entry is realy getting weak, meaning I have to be close to the car and have to hit the button a few times before it works. Anything I can do to fix this, without replacing the whole system. The remote has new batteries .

take the remote apart and use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts that the rubber buttons contact when you push them in. only takes a minute, helped on mine

yes, if you keep your keys in your posket it will get condensation on the rubber contacts and will leave a black residue. take the remote apart, clean off the contacts on the bored and the rubber. While your at it replace the battery
