And im not sure where to start...I need some good opinions...

headers and a cam would be the most hp/dollar, besides n20

get your exhaust set up first, then headers, then cam it after you get a few boltons

the coolest and most power-making mods IMO besides heads or power-adders

simple...more air in....easier exhaust out...

cold air induction and a catback would be step one

headers would be next

is the car an auto or manual?
manual you'll want a better shifter, auto you'll probably want a torque converter and maybe gears depending on what it has.

there are alot of small things too:
160 degree thermostat
pullies
airfoil
larger MAF sensor
aluminum drive shaft
suspension (lca, phb, sfc, stb, relocation brackets)

Deffiantly start with bolt on's first. Cam will do no good if you still have manifolds and a paper filter. I agree with teke184. Get you a good CAI first. Probably $200 or so. All of them are really the same. I have a K&N. Cat backs, Hooker has a good sound. Everyone will have a different opinion though. Most will agree on Hooker.

magnaflow catbck rocks...inexpensive (bout $325 on ebay i think), polished muffler and tips and is great flowing and great sounding

Avoid the G2 CIA. It is generally regarded to not flow as well as the rest. Other than that, go with whatever CAI brand piques your interest the most. A little under 200$ for 10-13 flywheel hp

SLP Loudmouth catback is absolutely obnoxious with headers. If it's a daily driven car, you will, in most likelyhood, want a stainless steel cat-back. Search some threads about catbacks and exhaust systems. It's difficult to describe the sound difference of them, but some folks do post their soundclips. ~330 for Magnaflow shipped. 20ish flywheel with CAI combined.

Shifter should be the first thing you do if you have a manual. The stock one is an insult to the car. 175-200 shipped, worth every penny.

Subframe connecters is going to be my third mod. Takes out a good amount of the nasty slop these cars have. BMR and Sphon would be my choice. I'm going with BMR cause it's cheaper. Figure 150ish shipped. Get them if you care about how your car handles.

The most important thing to do is make sure you car is running correctly (check about seafoam, plugs, wires, etc) and use premium grade gas in your car. It's not designed for the cheap stuff, and the knock module is the only thing that will save you.

And of course always do a search on a product for comparision before you drop $200+ on it. You have the resources of around 1 million posts here, don't waste your money on an uninformed purchase! Double check whatever is recommended in this thread to you

CAI and a cutout. Don't waste the money on a catback, I wish I didn't. Those two will run less than $300. Less than $200 if you can get a used CAI.

i would do air lid first, then CAI i went with slp. then catback. i wanted quiet performance. my speedshop recommended edelbrock rpm. its mild /throaty until you get on it. i looked inside the muffler and it has 3 over one inch straight threw holes/tubes with lots of packing. but magnaflow and hooker seam good. if you want expensive try borla, gmmg, corsa.

well i started with k&n cai used for 100$s( found it on this site) then bought 160* thermo for 15$( found it on this site) then after countless hours of research on exhaust i went with the cut-out.
i love the sound very obnoxious but silent at idle! next mod is going to be 3000 yank stall. so far all has been worth it and i havent even went over 200 bucks!! but the stall is 800$
cai 100$ labor free
160 thermo 15$ labor free
cut-out 35$ labor 40$
altogether 190$ and gained 3 mph/ 4 tenths in qtr

hope this helps out on your decision

You might want to try this as well:

SLP CAI
Hooker cat back
Hypertech/SLP 160 stat
3.73 auto/4.10 M6 gears
Jet Hot/Hooker LTs
BMR/Spohn SFCs, LCAs with brackets and maybe a TA

This is where I started too!
Very inexpensive and fun things to start with.

The exhaust cutout installed in the place of my cat was the best 39$+install I've ever spent
