I was thinking of this earlier, and desided 180 would be good since that's when the thermostat opens. I don't know what the LS1's stat is, so just have them turn on when it opens.

That works? On my POS (with non functioning A/C at the moment), the fans don't come on with AC demand, only when the compresor actually runs.

Ya, I believe that the fans only come on when the compressor runs.

Another reason I like the manual fan switch over a tune:
When I get my electric water pump hooked up I can turn the car off and still run the pump and the fans to really cool the engine down fast!

Re: Just installed a Manual Fan Switch

Never been a fan of manual fan switches. I prefer tuned PCM's or fan switches. Manual fans seem like something extra to have to deal with. Only time you really need the fans on manually is when you're sitting in traffic and even then it's not like you're losing performance. Heck, you're getting better gas mileage when that happens. And if it's that hot outside you're probably going to have the A/C turned on anyways.

I say set the fans to turn on around 200 or so. That way they don't wear out in the summer and you still have heat in the winter.

One of my cars does have a manual fan switch (regular/low/high) but it only works when the car is running. The two lights that go along with it are nice. But honestly, I just leave it in the regular position all the time.
