Just how restrictive are our Exhaust Manifolds?
Over the winter I plan to do either Long Tubes(hooker), or an SLP Y pipe with no cat. I just wonder how restrivive are our manifolds? Are the headers really worth $500? Or could that money be better spent elsewhere?
The car currently has 4:56 gears (not my choice). A BS thrown together exahust that will be replaced with a Borla or Triflo. And a Moroso Intake.

Manifolds suck. This is contriversial, but mods and times in sig, I run cheap **** bbk shorties. Car was REAL efficent out of the hole, but made good power as well. I cant complain, 12s on shorties. I guess what im gettin at is shorty or long tube, either one is WAYYY beter than factory. Hope this helps, Eric L
I would never waste my time with shorties. LT's allow more flow on a stock motor and even better if/when you do an engine build. This I know.
I just wondered if LT's should be a must have mod if the car will never see more than basic bolt-ons.
Thanks for all the replies gents.
