jumping lt1 fuel pump

Hey guys,

I'm dissasembling my wrecked '94 so I can free up some parts for my new '95 LT1. I don't know how much fuel was in the car at the point of crash, as I was NOT the one that crashed it.

But I would like to drain and drop the tank today. I'm sure the fuel pump is still ok. I want to dissconnect the fuel line right at the fuel filter, and jump the pump with 12v to get it to drain the tank. I noticed 3 wires going to the tank. Which one should I feed 12v to, and, where do I hook the ground up. I can just try it, but I don't want to damage the sender as I need it as well.

I plan to use the tank and sender w/bypass hose in my '88, so I can replace the stock '88 tank with holes in it, and run my holley black.

Thanks guys, I'll look forward to a reply and keep working on the car.

Regards,

Igor.

And I'll move this to "General F-Body Tech", since it isn't "engine" tech.
