Jumping the AC compressor?

on the relay what numbers do i put together to jump the AC compressor?

also all i have to do is touch them together and then turn the ac on and the compressor should start working right?

and i also can use a caot hanger wire or just a wire correct?

Re: Jumping the AC compressor?

jump pins 87 and 30 at the relay plug, a piece of wire will work ok, if for some reason it starts glowing, pull it out with pliers(will be hot)

Re: Jumping the AC compressor?

Why are you going to do this? You can damage wiring, its just letting all the voltage it can go through it. Circuits are not set up to hold as much voltage as you can put to them.

if you are low on freon, it stops the relay from operating the compressor, as operating on a low charge will hurt the compressor

Re: Jumping the AC compressor?

If the PCM sees that the compressor cycles on and off too much it can tell that it is low on freon and shuts the system down. Also if the signal wire going to the relay is bad the relay won't ever kit on , no matter how many good ones you put in there. The pins you are jumping is a battery voltage(power wire) and the power wire going to the compressor. There is a reason that no signal is going to the relay and you need to get that checked out. You don't want to cook that compressor clutch ..... money.

Re: Jumping the AC compressor?

Please, it's not freon anymore. Freon was R12, we use R134A now. Yes I am **** and people won't change but it's like a pet peeve.
